Shortly after being announced as a finalist for the Telstra Next G Network Australian Fashion Graduate of the Year, Ainsley Hansen launched her graduation range at Mercedes Benzes Fashion Week in August 2009. The collection named “Generic Sameness” was inspired by the progression of globalisation, as a result the range lends itself to “Creolisation”, where nothing is dominant and nothing is entirely traditional, resulting in hybrid dress forms. Hansen’s first range is a futuristic view of our single interwoven macro-culture. It subtly interlaces ethic silhouette’s, global shapes and international trends to result, in a powerful fusion of cultural diversity.
In Ainsley Hansen’s earlier years, whilst studying she worked along side Australian designers; Josh Goot and Gary Bigeni who both heavily inspired her creative vision. Having received formal training at Sydney Institute of Technology, and graduating at the top of her class with distinction, Hansen obtained a job on the hit Foxtel show, Australia’s Next Top Model as the stylist.
With her love for fashion and keen eye for trends Hansen has now been taken-in to re-create the emerging label Russh. Working along side Uscari'’s Designer Krystel Davis.
Relying on her gifted genes and zeal for all areas within the fashion industry, Hansen plans to persist with both styling and design as she continues to offer exciting dimension of individualism into both areas.
